The Delano King Foundation (DKF) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in Delaware that Server Humanity by Bringing Life-Changing Care to Orphaned, Disabled, Abandoned, and Underprivileged Children and Families and Foster Caregivers.
DKF was founded in 2016 and incorporated as a nonprofit organization in 2017. Founder Delano King was born in Liberia and escaped the extreme poverty, war, and disease that has plagued his home country for decades. Committed to helping his countrymen build a better life-based in faith, he was inspired to create a nonprofit that could serve orphans, disabled, abandoned, and vulnerable children and families in Liberian and across the globe by providing direct assistance guided by the saving love of Jesus Christ.
With a modest amount of the founder’s own funds, DKF has been able to transform the lives of many individuals in Liberia. Through visits and the help of church and community-based partnership in Liberia, DKF team connects with individuals and communities in need so DKF can distribute supplies and funding.
Being based in Delaware, DKF is aware of the problems of poverty and drug addiction here at home, particularly in Claymont, Wilmington, and Newark. DKF worked with ACME Markets to secure a food donation for Thanksgiving meals to needy individuals and families in 2018 in Claymont.
The guiding mission and principals of DKF are to help the disabled, orphaned, abandoned and vulnerable children and families who are unwanted, unloved, uncared for, and forgotten. DKF is dedicated to serving the disenfranchised, changing their lives aided by the word of Jesus Christ, and helping them understand their God-given potential to lead a better life in God’s path.
Through our family support and care programs, we impact the lives of thousands of orphaned, disabled, abandone, and vulnerable children and families.
