Tetee

At the height of the Ebola epidemic in Liberia, 12-year-old Tetee Williams watches as the ruthless virus ravages her mother and 15 other family members. Her mother was known for her generosity in providing for their family and helping others in need. Tetee was heartbroken when her mother died because she thought she would not have further her education. Like so many parents, her mother’s dream was to see her daughter graduate high school and go on to become a medical doctor. Now she’s no longer alive, it means her dream for Tetee came to an end. But God had another plan line up for Tetee as he is a faithful God who works mysteriously.

Her family’s yard was the genesis of the Ebola Virus in Monrovia, and their story drew the attention of many international nonprofits and media institutions. Despite the promises made by these organizations, zero support came through. Thankfully in 2016, Tetee became the first recipient of The Delano King Foundation Africa Orphaned Scholarship through the help of her neighbor who happened to be a volunteer of The Delano King Foundation. Tetee Williams graduated high school in November 2022. Tetee Williams is thriving and incredibly grateful for the opportunity to pursue her dreams.
