There are more vulnerable and less fortunate children and families across the globe today than ever before. Circumstances such as poverty, disease, and armed conflict threaten family stability. Children are at a much greater risk of being abandoned, abused, exploited, or forced into early marriage when families are at risk of falling apart. Delano King Foundation’s approach to helping end violence against poor and less fortunate children is to equip them, by creating communities where they are empowered to take meaningful steps toward reaching their God-given potential.

& Secure Childhood

We believe a world where every child is empowered to take meaningful steps toward reaching their God-given potential without violence is possible. Every year, hundreds of babies are left abandoned by their parents in hospitals across Liberia due to poverty or birth defects. Some babies born in ghettos are usually sold by their drug-addicted mothers. Being safe and secure drives children’s sense of well-being and it transforms their lives. It is everyone’s responsibility to make sure children are safe by creating communities where they are empowered to take meaningful steps toward achieving their God-given potential.

We don’t just protect children out of dangerous situations, we work to create a Christ-Center environment where they will grow to establish a personal relationship with God through his son Jesus Christ thus protecting them from abuse, exploitation, and trafficking so that they can achieve their potential. We provide shelter for abandoned children in hospitals and those rescued from the ghettos or dilapidated homes across Liberia by connecting them to Bible-believing foster parents and providing monthly financial support. Our prevention of child abandonment in Liberia is reaching children who are born in ghettoes and abandoned or put out for sale by drug-addicted parents.
