Steven was born into a poverty-stricken family in Liberia and has been battling a mysterious illness for his entire life. Despite all the obstacles, he remains determined to overcome his illness and live a fulfilling life. Steven’s mother noticed a rash on his hands and feet at six months old. Thinking it was thrush – a common rash that babies experience in Africa. She prepared herbal treatment to tend to the rash but to no avail. He was later admitted to the JKF Hospital, a poorly funded government hospital, for three months and later discharged with no cure for his illness. He experiences daily pain in his hands and feet as they split and itch – making it impossible to walk or bathe. His condition has kept him completely isolated. He has never attended school before, and he has been marginalized by his friends and community. Whenever his parents tried to enroll him in school, the authorities would reject his application. This has left his family with little hope; unable to afford treatments and doctor visits, his mother prays daily for God to take Steven’s life.

Moved by Steven’s story, The Delano King Foundation was inspired to get involved. Delano King, President & Chief Executive Officer, came across Steven’s story on Facebook, and through the special grace of God, he immediately called the parents of Steven and offered prayer, and give hope in Jesus’ Name. Steven Zoe is now receiving medical treatment at Jahmale Medical Solutions Hospital in Liberia. This treatment is being sponsored by The World Medical Ministry, a ministry of The Delano King Foundation, as part of our commitment to improving healthcare access for the poor and less fortunate children and families in need.

The World Medical Ministry, a ministry of The Delano King Foundation is dedicated to providing medical assistance to the poor and the underprivileged. Our two-fold purpose is to minister to the physical needs of the sick and suffering while sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ. We believe that the poor and underprivileged deserve access to quality medical treatment and we are proud to support individuals like Steven in his journey towards a healthier life. We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that healthcare is accessible to the poor and underprivileged in Jesus’ Name.
